Part 1

Basti walked through the streets of Veilstone city, awaiting the call that told him that the package from Professor Rowan had arrived at the Pokemon Center. Basti was getting a Piplup, Professor Rowan had seen great potential in him and had decided to gift him with it. Basti couldn't wait! he already had a few pokemon of his own but piplup was one of his favourites, he already knew what he was going to call it. The Phone rung. Basti nearly shouted in excitement as he answered the phone. It was his sister. He let out a sigh of disappointment and asked what she wanted. "Professor Rowan rung and said he couldn't deliver it. You have to pick it up from Eterna City, where he's staying at the moment." She said. Basti let out another, greater sigh of disappointment and said,"Okay tell Mum that i'm leaving straight away, see you later." "Bye!" she quickly said before he hung up the phone out of frustration. He started walking out of Veilstone when he decided that it would just be easier to catch a ride from his sister's Rapidash, he called her back and she said "i knew you'd want my help. I'll send Flare, Where are you?" "Just near the Game Corner" He said. She hung up and within seconds he could hear screams of terror as Flare, his sister's Rapidash, ran through the street towards him. As she ran past he jumped on her back with his Bibarels help. Basti's Bibarels name was Aqua Bear, he and his Bibarel had grown up together since he was only three and Aqua Bear was only a Bidoof. Aqua Bear had saved his life. The memory washed over him.

Basti had grown up in Veilstone and had always liked to go out into the woods and play with the pokemon there. On this particular day he had gone deeper into the woods and met a ferocious Croconaw that looked like it wanted to eat his brains out. Because Basti was only three he immediately started to cry and scream, this was when a Bidoof came up to the Croconaw and bit it, Aqua Bear wasn't a very strong Pokemon and probably didn't do much damage to the Croconaw, but anyone thats ever been bitten on the behind would definitely run away out of shock. This was exactly what the Croconaw did. Basti immediately started to laugh because Croconaw got bitten on the Behind, From then on Bidoof was known as Aqua Bear. A Year later his mum caught it for him and it used to help out around the house. This memory had always stuck with Basti and Aqua Bear would always be his closest friend.

Basti opened his eyes because Flare had stopped. He was in Eterna city.
