| This is rant. If you aren't going to read this gtfo.
I have been increasingly encountering teams and teams that use these damned rotom-apps. I really just can't be asked battling them which in turn leads me to simply DC. Becuase I quite frankly do not have the time to deal with them.
I just don't understand why people have to use them. To people I have ocnfronted about it. They say it is part of the game. Granted that it is... It IS NOT a part of the wifi metagame. And the fact that you have to cheat to use shows that they shouldn't be used because they are overpowered...
My belief is that using rotom-apps is a worse crime than pokesaving. And quite frankly I don't want to run everysingle one of my OU teams with a rotom-counter because they fail if there is no rotom to counter in the first place.

| A little overreacting, arent you? Rotom formes are the best Gyarados counter next to P2, who turns useless if your opponent doesnt carry Heatran/Salamence/Gyarados. They check many common and usually though to counter OU threats such as Metagross, Scizor, Heatran, again, Gyarados, physical attackers in general if they switch into WoW etc.
Now, you are right in the part that they werent meant to be used in the Wifi metagame, however, that is just because Nintendo didnt bother to create files for them in DP, after the release of HG/SS, and the formes becoming available without an event, Gamefreak didnt include them just because they were lazy, Rotom Formes are not OP, they are great Pokes, but not OP at all. (Although I do beleive people should say before the battle "I MAY use plat formes", that way people can tell they should build their team taking in account the possibility of a Rotom Forme coming)

| Rotom also has no reliable recovery move... so any damage over time will whittle it down every time it switches in.
It isn't even as bulky as you think... Base 50 HP and 107 defenses mean that it won't live forever. Pokemon like Heatran switch in on Will-O-Wisp/Overheat/Basically Anything and can threaten Rotom immediately. Tyranitar, Weavile, and any other strong pursuit user can easily trap it if it lacks Will-O-Wisp or avoids it on the switch in. Blissey walls it completely. Gengar comes in on Will-O-Wisp and can easily OHKO. If it isn't Rotom-h, Magnezone takes it on, resisting all of its moves while subbing in its face and wearing it down with Thunderbolt/Hidden Power. Snorlax always is a great choice to use it as set-up-fodder for curse-rest variants. New Mixmence Salamence OHKOes most variants with Draco Meteor, and Max Special attack Latias can easily dispatch it as well with Draco Meteor. Lucario can come in and Crunch it to death if it is at around 70% HP. Etc...

| He's not ranting about Rotom being to good. He's ranting about how it's cheating to hack to use a special form of them. And I sorta agree with him. | |

It sounds like he thinks they are too good They are used on shoddy, why shouldn't they be used on Wi-Fi? And about you not wanting to run a counter just because you may not see it... with that logic you mine as well not want to run a tyranitar counter because you may not see it, which will leave you open to a sweep from DD tar... It's funny how so many people still cannot understand why Garchomp is Uber, and yet we there are people questioning how a pokemon with Base 50 HP, 65 Attack, 107 Defenses, 86 Speed, and 105 Special Attack is overpowered

Does shoddy even have rights to use game freaks Pokemon? I believe not.

| Actually, they do, Shoddy battle falls under fair use, as theres no profit made out of it and the actual data used from the game is ridiculously low | |

| Well idk why people think shoddy is fun all you do is click stuff and it is effective! Ohh now it is addictive! Shoddy is just boring. Also Boris I agree that it's not fair that other people use rotom forms when it is naturally not allowed... | |

If you hack to use it that's pretty sad. That's just as bad as using an Uber in a Standard OU match. All my teams have a counter for Rotom anyhow because I test my teams on shoddy.

Competition to the leaderboard can make it addicting Lots of people use it to test teams and make sure they don't suck before they spend hours breeding them

| If you want my opinion on this I think there should be a rule called "Forme Clause" and if this rule is in effect, your not allowed to use pokemon formes that you would have to use a cheat device to use it That's what I think should be done | |

| Honestly, I don't see the problem. Rotom formes are "illegal" on wifi b/c u have to hack to get them. But they are an important part of the metagame which we all follow. Its a pokemon your teams have to be prepared for because many people use it. Getting counters is a part of the game, as every1 has to have counters to certain pokes. Many people test their teams on shoddy, where they have to face rotom anyway. Its a part of the game, and GameFreak put it there for people to use. The only reason that they did not let it be used on wifi is b/c it is unfair for the d/p users to fight them b/c they cant see them, but normally you can just ask your opponent what form it is anyway. They're a part of the game. | |
