Ok, I decided that it may be a good idea to gather together all of the tools the community and I use in team building. In this post, there’ll be links to all sorts of resources, as well as stuff that other people have contributed to be put in the list. This is going to be a work in progress sort of thing, so if you have anything to add to the list, then just post down below. Thanks in advance, and enjoy!

(PS, does anyone know how you can make links to parts of this post? As in so you can click on one of the contents list below, and it’ll take you straight to the section? Just an idea is all.)

I dunno if you want to sticky this or something; its just something to help with RMTs.

Contents

- Calculators
- Damage
- Stat (including IV and EV)
- EV Distribution
- Other

- Pokédexes
- Move set Compilations
- Pokédexes
- Veekun.com Search

- Team Building

Calculators

Damage

Smogon's Damage Calculator - The new best Damage calculator around. Its main advantages over other ones is that this is more competitive than most - its linked to their Analysis database and can instantly pull up the Pokémons EV spread and Moveset. The other advantage is that you can do bulk calculations either attacking or defending hits, and can even be transferred into text at the click of a button.

Librelldra Forge - Probably the most accurate and simplest calculator to use, and is always recommended.

Stat Calculators

Marrilands Beta IV Calculator - Simple and easy to use, it provides a reliable and quick solution for finding out IVs of hatched eggs.

EV Distribution

Defence Applet – This is a weird one, but is extremely helpful. By inputting the base stats of your poke and this applet will give you the most efficient way to distribute those EVs. By moving the slider, you can optimise which defence you want to specialise in. I can’t stress how useful it is, I’m always using this. Credit to X-Act from Smogon for making this.

Other

The Defence Tiers and The Attack Tiers by Dragontamer on Smogon. I use the Defence Tiers a lot – by doing a little bit of maths (you have to use a scientific calculator for this, you can do it using the calculator on your PC) you can compare the defences on their ability to take hits. This is done by rolling the HP and the Defence into one, and so you’re left with 2 numbers: one for the Defence and one for the Special Defence, which you can look up on the tables to see where your PKMN stands defensivly. It’s a bit complicated if you don’t know what you’re doing – I’ll probably explain it a bit later on. I’ve never used the Attack tiers, but if you’re interested, they’re there as well.

Pokédexes

Psypoke's Pokédex - An indepth Pokédex, with all up to date information on Moves, Breeding and Hatching information, Weaknesses and Resistances, Stats.

http://www.psypokes.com/lab/natures.php
Psypokes Natures Guide

Smogon's Analyses - Smogon University, the home of competitive Battling, and its Analyses

Smogon's Contributions and Corrections - Catch all of the newly discovered movesets before everyone else catches onto them. Also holds newly written and Updated Analyses. Always worth checking out once in a while.

veekun.com's Search for Pokémon - Want to find another Pokémon with that specific move set? This search engine does just that - it may seem useless at first, and its greatest use is finding similar Pokémon with a specific move combination. Its somewhat unreliable, but its great as a bit of a mind jogger.

Sprites

Resource Thread~ Dpmfa149
pokemonelite2000 - for the original sprites, that look professional and are very useful. There are also the smaller sprites and animations, but there’s no Rotom Appliance, Deoxys or Shaymin Formes on there.

Resource Thread~ Dragonite
Arkeis.com – These pictures are really cute, and really stand out and look really good to boot.

Resource Thread~ I_kairyuu
pokesho.com - A Japanese Website with some original and very interesting images.

Team Building

Marriland Team Builder - Always handy, especially seeing as you can visualise your team and it has all of its Weaknesses and Resistances listed to quickly reference.

Psypoke's Attack Type Analysisr - This tool is great for seeing if your move combination has any resisted Pokémon (including abilities as well).

Smogon's Rate My Team Archive - Smogon's Rate My Team archive is a great place to get inspiration for your own teams.

Stealth Rock - Always handy, just to double check the Pokémon that learn Stealth Rock so that you can find the perfect one to put Stealth Rock into your team.

If you can think of any more, post them here and I'll put them in!

I think a lot of people here are going to disagree with you on the quality of arkeris. I think most people just go to devianart and type in the name of a pokemon instead. nice job, altho its probably going to get moved to Pokemon disscussion.

Did you even link up Serebii?
It has a great item list and is a pretty good website in general for set making,.
At least, that's the way I see it.

This is a pretty good idea!

Arkeis is ok, but they look cartoonish and not exactly professional. I used to like them, but not so much anymore =/

I really like that Japanese site that has those cool, abstract like pictures =)
