| Ok So I know someone on the internet who is in a "relationship" with someone else on the internet.
Anywho She's 16 and He's 13 (his gender is debatable though) They have been "going out" for about a year already.
My problems:
1. You may be given pictures of that person, but is he really all that he's/she's cracked up to be? Can you really trust a person on THE INTERNET that the photo given was really him/her?
2. If you're not given the photo, how can you know your "lover's" gender? People can lie on the Internet. You can't trust ANYONE on the internet unless you personally know them.
A divorced woman got on an online video game and hooked up with a "boyfriend" that lived a couple of states away. It turns out that HE was actually a SHE. Talk about awkward.
3. You cannot get it on, kiss, hug, hold hands, or other physical activities with someone over the internet. Unless you're desperate enough, I suppose you could try humping your hard drive and see what happens.
4. You may have a double crosser. While you're enjoying your relationship with you're "lover" the person on the other end may decided to cheat on you without telling you. Of course, this drama could be avoided if you didn't have this relationship in the first place.
Anywho those are my issues on the matter. Your opinion?

| I cant say anything on the age thing, although I'm not over the internet and all that, so yea.
As for internet relationships, its the same as a long distance relationship, the problem is with the internet, it means that you will -never- have that physical contact, which is a must.
As a friend of mine used to tell me; Out of sight, out of mind.

| The age thing only matters during years as a teen, when you become an adult, you'll often find couples with 10 years diffrence. i dont have a opinon about this sort of thing tho | |

| *AHEM* We have E-Harmony for a reason pplz!
Relationships online can be somewhat successful I surmise. Not that I would know but I think it's silly but hey it works for some people....it doesn't work for some. There is Skype for a reason lol. You can have live video chats and stuff like that to prove it. IDEK

You can't trust ANYONE on the internet unless you personally know them. im assuming these ppl both have cell phones and texting, if so i wouldnt be surprised if they sent pictures that can confirm the others gender... A divorced woman got on an online video game and hooked up with a "boyfriend" that lived a couple of states away. It turns out that HE was actually a SHE. Talk about awkward. thats rly awkward but a lot of adults (at least in my experience) are not as internet friendly as most kids are and i think it would be easier to trick an adult who has resorted to dating online than a teen 3. You cannot get it on, kiss, hug, hold hands, or other physical activities with someone over the internet. Unless you're desperate enough, I suppose you could try humping your hard drive and see what happens. i would bet money that most ppl who get into online dating arent doing much of the above or would be content with just being able to talk with someone as more than a friend 4. You may have a double crosser. While you're enjoying your relationship with you're "lover" the person on the other end may decided to cheat on you without telling you. Of course, this drama could be avoided if you didn't have this relationship in the first place. i would say chances of cheating are just as likely (or less even consider someone who is trying to finde a gf/bf online probly isnt getting to much tail anyway) Anywho those are my issues on the matter. Your opinion?
i would feel awkward about having a friend that was dating long distance but if it made them happy, they werent doing it just to have a bf/gf, and they were being safe about it (not giving out any information thats could be harmful) at least until they were together for a while, then i would support it and as far as im concerned your just as likely to have someone screw you over to your face as you are on the internet

I wouldn't support it in general. Basically the whole deal of being afraid of rejection. And/or lack of self confidence - Kanrik wrote:
