Well, the some of the most effective teams are based off of what is considered anti metagame, meaning that you build a team off a Pokémon that can currently counter/set up on (or even both) some of the most common Pokémon... Examples include things like Manectric who can seriously punch wholes in the opponents team, having 2 moves in Thunderbolt and Flamethrower that hit the top 2 Pokémon, Venusaur and Milotic, for super effective damage. Electric is also a fantastic STAB in UU because nothing outside of Ground, Grass, and Electric types are resistant to it and HP [Grass] takes on those Donphans and Rhyperiors and Flamethrower takes on Grass types. I guess you could say Shelgon and Dragonair resist Electric, but com on they are both 2HKOed by Thunderbolt anyways =P
