OK so Reyscarface's team on Smogon - http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76014 - made me want to try OU again and use Forretress as a lead because he says it sets up on so much. I originally had that weird Celebi set I posted in the strategy section on the team paired with a Tyranitar. The whole idea of the team was to support a DD Tar sweep... Over time, though, T-Tar almost never did anything although I did win a lot, but it was my other Pokémon that got the job done.
I had Forretress / Celebi / T-Tar / Heatran / Rotom / Kingdra on the team originally, but ever since T-Tar started sucking and my Celebi set was rather meh, I changed the team a bit. After looking over weaknesses and resistances etc... I changed T-Tar to a SpD Rest-Talk Roar variant to abuse Forretress' spikes, and Celebi was changed to a bulkier set. Rotom with a Choice Scarf was just too frail, so I changed it to a Sub-Pain Split-Thunderbolt-Will-O-Wisp set (amazing set actually, I don't get why it isn't on site) and I changed Kingdra to Vaporeon because Kingdra's bulk wasn't enough to take on things like Heatran and Infernape with no form of recovery outside of Rest. T-Tar ended up doing nothing, again, and SS hurt my team severely (Rotom could only make 3 subs at full HP b/c SS acts before leftovers does, and Vaporeon's walling capabilities were not as great with essentially no leftovers), and I desperately needed a Dragon resistance among some other resistances. I ended up with Forretress / Jirachi / Celebi / Heatran / Rotom / Vaporeon: The final team
This is where I need to ask you something, my team is pretty similar to the guy's team up ^there^ with 5/6 Pokémon being the same. Now, I did arrive at the final party mostly by myself (Forretress and Jirachi I stole, but even Jirachi has a slightly different move set and EVs), with Heatran having a different EV spread and Rotom a completely different set. I also used his Vaporeon move set and EVs, but I had the idea to use Vaporeon myself just out of common sense of needing a Heatran, Infernape etc... counter. Would you say that I "stole" his team? I didn't copy and paste his team into Shoddy, I came up with the end product myself, but I did more or less look to his team for guidance sometimes... What do you think?
PS: Sorry for this extremely long message haha
