Question! Why is it friends AND foes?

I was just wondering why there's foes in that section of one's profile. Is it like a rival thing or...is it if you want to block someone...or if you just plain hate someone?
If it's the last two, why do we have that, wouldn't it cause more bad than good?

i dont have anyone on my foes list but i think its a block button ion essence

oh, i think i get why it's there, maybe there are just some people out there who bug others to the point of not wanting anything to do with them. Even if that happened to me I still probably wouldn't put them on my foes list because it start's fights and i'm a pacifist, so i don't partake in fights( well except pokemon, of course).

The list is mainly for emergencies. Like, if someone spams your PM inbox.
