Stupid Oil

Okay I'm really POed at the oil spill. My dad's job to find off shore oil is in jeoprody since the offshore wells are closed. Plus we will probably cAncel our vacation this july seeing as the oil will probably close our beach. I really can't stand this whole situTation. I won't go into it any more cuz then I would be breaking a few forums rules but I'm really frustrated

Dude, I completely feel bad for you. This situation is so upsetting. I, personally, don't know what to make of the political action/accusations (which I won't discuss here anyway), but the environmental damage is INSANE. People don't even know how horribly bad this is going to end up...

I may have Conservative views, but I am all for the environment. I'm very disturbed by this situation.

Yeah, the places affected by the oil house mainly endangered species so what willl ahppen to them? I can't even have the news on without seeing a dieing turtle. I just hope that a miracle fixes this

It's people like the people who cause the oil spill cause global warming! We are all going to die!

Catz, I'm with you once again dude. It sickens me to see all of these dying animals. I pray to God every day that a miracle WILL fix this problem.

Well, BP seems to have no intention of doing anything, so it's pushed on to our government.

Not really. BP spilled it, but we can't do much.

The thing is, this could have happened to any of the offshore rigs. I think that BP is obviously responsible, but I do think that they are doing all they can to stop the leak.

Sure, they haven't come up with a successful idea yet, and you can blame them. HOWEVER, have YOU come up with an idea?

Also, since it was brought up, I think the way the govt. is handling this is disgusting. Pity pity, now screw you, we're going on vacation. Umm... no. A true leader would be out there in his water/overalls suit thing scooping oil out of the Gulf until it was done. Unfortunately, that is not what is happening. I find it rather horrifying actually.

Agreed Catz. Stopping offshore drilling will do absolutely nothing. You all drive in cars, correct? Exactly. Saying that we should stop offshore drilling is unbelievably hypocritical (not accusing any of you of saying that).

Exactly all it does is raise gas price and cost people jobs.

You're making assumptions and judging off of them, TJ. The government isn't in charge of the rig, and probably they aren't even fully aware of the situation. They can't make snap choices, when they aren't even sure where things went wrong. And, technically, they have no right to check, as it's BP's.

Well it's been nearly a month since it exploded so they must know the full situation. I do agree with you on BP should check it out

I understand that the logistics of the situation are unknown (and probably will be until August, or until they're so coated with oil we can't tell what happened [heehee]), but I do expect my government to show more of an effort. The actions our leader has taken, in my opinion, are ignorant and embarrassing to us as a country. Just my opinion.

Also, it was someone's job to monitor the rig. That worked out real well... and I'm not just blaming the government.

But on a serious note... Sh*t happens. The Oil company is trying it's best to stop any further spread of this, give it time.

No offense but if that's their best then we're screwed

I honestly do think they're doing their best dude. I know how much it hurts, but they wouldn't try to kill of hundreds of ecosystems. A mile underwater is a loooooong way down...

Yeah My frustration is blinding me from progress. I know they don't want the envirment messed up. I like everyone else just want it fixed. I guess I'll just wait and hope for a miracle

Lets see, how to put it, how to put it? Oh, I know. THIS IS THE WORST ENVIROMENTAL CATASTROPHE EVER. A stupid company worried about making some extra millions caused in a freaking month what could take literally centuries to recover, in fact, the scale is so big it could take thousands of years before theres a 100% recovery. And you tell me they are doing the best they can? You wanna know how much money they donated? A million bucks....yeah, thank you F BP for destroying the enviroment for the rest of our lifes and that of our future children and grandchildren because you couldnt afford to give proper maintenance to your faulty oil rigs
