Atlanta VGC 2010

Yup, I'm going to it tomorrow.

For those who don't know me too well, I started competitive battling with the VGC back in 2009, where I attended the Regional Qualifier in Nashville, Tennessee. Of course, I had just learned about EV training and IV breeding, so I was no expert at it, especially at inventing my own EV spreads, so I ran some crazy ones haha (For example, my Walrein ran 200 HP, 100 Defense, 196 Special Attack, and whatever was left was put into Special Defense, so you know how well that went...). But regardless, I ran a unique Hail team, which at the time the most common teams were "Goodstuffs" which were a bunch of hard hitting Pokémon that had no real strategy, but did have real well synergy. There was also a variety of Trick Room, which was really fun to use at this time because of all the slow Pokémon viable. But as far as I could tell, no one ran Hail team so I decided to do just that.

I went up in Nashville expecting nothing to how chaotic it was going to be, but it was fun for sure. I managed to get through the first four rounds, leading me to the Finalist Lounge. I was extremely excited. Anyway, long story short, I ended up losing in the Top 16 to the eventual winner of the Regional and he came to be the National winner and came in 4th in Worlds.
Now onto real time. This year will be different because of the new Ubers rule they allowed. I have made my team and hope to succeed with it, making it farther than I did last year. When I get back, I will be sure to post a warstory for you guys, although you could find it in the Smogon forums as well haha.

Anyway, I just wanted to let y'all know this and it's about 2 am right now and I'm extremely anxious. Oh, and if anyone else is going to The Gwinnett Center Saturday, drop me a PM and maybe we can met up or something haha. This year I am going by myself unlike I did last year with my cousin so I'm hoping to at least have some company.

Well, I made it toe the third round Prelims, where I lost in a pretty haxxy battle to MattJ, who was a favorite to win in Atlanta from Smogon. Really though, hax played a huge part and did affect the outcome. But whatever, I still had a great time. Warstory should be up tomorrow.
