Why is that Pokémon that type?

Let us share our annoyance at some of the typing Game Freak gave some Pokemon. I'll start:

Palkia, Water/Dragon. Seriously? Water? What does that have to do with Space? :S It should have been Pyshic/Dragon, awesome!

Infernape. stupid Blaziken copier, though Blaziken should have been Fire/Flying, then that's be a Charizard copy, which brings us to the debate of that being part Dragon or even a Bird type being made for Blaziken.

Pidgeotto, Fearow, Swellow, Staraptor (OMG only 3-Stage one out of them , just realised xD). Why are these evolved goodnesses part Normal? They should be plain Flying or even Bird types... But I guess being part Normal gives them STAB from some moves.

What are some, or all of your typing peeves?

lol they are the same thing, but it is actually called flying in-game

the only dragon move in gen I was dragon rage so they decided the only add one 3-stage dragon line. sucks if you ask me, but w.e. anyways thats probably why charizard and gyarados are flying-type.

And I'm sorry, blaziken being flying-type? excuse me. when was the last time you saw a chicken flying? its based on fighting chickens.
I'm assuming the birds you mentioned are normal because they are normal birds, and I agree with you that staraptor shouldn't have been normal/flying. It should have been fighting/flying. but the other ones can be normal/flying.
Why palkia is water/dragon I will never know, but I prefer kingdra.

Ilsulume is just bug, not bug/fling, same with volbeat.
Venomoth should be poison/flying, dusto to.
Empolion should not be steel.
I dont know why voltorb and electrode arnt steel types aswell as electric.
