| So I am trying to get footage off my TV and I was wondering if using a DVD recorder would work (like recording on to a cassette), also I was wondering how any of you guys who record footage do it. (I don't know much about capture devices) | |

Hmm, a DVD recorder should work, but I'm not the most familiar with them, as I don't use them to record myself. If I'm analyzing it correctly, you should be able to record something off of your TV to disc, which you will then insert in your computer and transfer it to the desktop, so that you can change the format, edit it, etc.

| I use a Dazzle Dvc 100 for my youtube recordings. Simply put, you plug AV cords through the TV, into the Dazzle, and into the computer. It doesn't have very good quality, but it get's the job done.
What is it that you're trying to record on your TV?

| I've been using a video camera for the longest time, but I'm working on getting a Dazzle so I can get back to recording off the Wii again.
For what I'll soon be posting, Halo : Reach matches, I abuse Bungie Pro (it costs money, but they render the video and all I have to do is download and edit a bit.)
For walkthrougts, depends.

If you have a good enough editing program, then I would suggest getting a pinnicle movie box ultimate, as it records with amazing quality, but if you need a good editing program, then slightly worse quality capture cards often come with good editing programs. Hope I helped somewhat.
