| I have finally begun my journey into the world of Competitive Pokemon! I have assembled what seems to be my first "team" and I would love love love it if people would give me some feed back. So here they are: (BTW, don't laugh if for some reason it's not that great. It's my FIRST attempt at team building.) Shuckle @ Leftovers Impish Nature Sturdy - Pokemon unaffected by OHKO's 252 Def, 252 Sp.Def, 4 HP - Stealth Rock - Knock Off - Rest - Toxic Hitmontop @ Leftovers Careful Nature Intimidate - Lowers attack power of opponent one stage 252 Sp. Def, 252 Atk, 4 Def - Rapid Spin - Substitute - Revenge - Close Combat Wailord @ Choice Scarf Naive Nature Water Veil - Cannot be burned 200 Sp.Atk, 170 Spd, 140 HP - Water Spout - Ice Beam - Rain Dance - Rest Venusaur @ Leftovers Modest Nature Overgrow - When HP dips below 1/3, Grass power increases by 1.5 times. 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Sp.Def, 4 HP - Leech Seed - Ingrain - Energy Ball - Earthquake Swellow @ Toxic Orb Jolly Nature Guts - Attack is increased 50% when under a status infection. 252 Spd, 252 Atk, 4 HP - Facade - Brave Bird - U-turn - Whirlwind Ampharos @ Leftovers Modest Nature Static - Opponent's contact moves may induce paralysis. 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Sp.Def, 4 HP - Thunder - Thunder Wave - Focus Blast - Heal Bell So there you go! Please leave your comments and ratings and thank you in advance! | |

| it doesnt really look bad but ur EV spreads are a little off also you could make this a good rain dance team but have wailord somewhat like this
Wailord@Leftovers Modest Any Ability 174 Hp 84 SpA 252 Def/SpDef Surf/Water Spout Ice Beam/Sleep Talk Rest Rain Dance
Ok so this is your main rain setter upper he has a large amount of HP so getting rain up shouldnt be hard its your choice of either ice beam or sleep talk ice beam for coverage or sleep talk for rest support
i also recommend dry skin toxicroak

| Hi! I'm starting out here too (I've made a lot of teams, but they weren't exactly up-to-par).
First off, Wailord. I don't see why there's Rain Dance and Rest when he has Choice Scarf. I'd recommend using a different item.
Secondly, on Swellow, you should use a Flame Orb instead of a toxic one. Toxic orbs BADLY poison you and deal more damage than a burn. Plus, burn doesn't cut your attack when you have Guts for an ability.
Lastly, you should use some more walls. I think Shuckles are fun and awesome, too, but it'll take more than that to stop enemy sweepers. Personally, I like Spiritomb walls, since they have balanced and malleable defense stats, along with some annoying moves like Will-o-Wisp and Pain Split. That's just me though (remember, I said my teams were never up-to-par).
I like the fact that you chose Ampharos for your team. Those things are underrated.

Sorry but that Venusaur set has to be pretty bad. You are trying to do too many things with one set, and that doesn't work. Second, you gave it EQ when that is a physical attack and you have a nature (modest) that lowers attack? Ingrain sucks because you cannot switch after using it, so your opponent can use you as set-up fodder. Try this set instead... (I know that is an Ivysaur but it just looked so awesome ) Venusaur @ Black Sludge Calm Nature... +Sp. Def, -Attack 252 HP / 252 Sp. Def / 4 Def ~Sleep Powder (EVERY Venusaur needs to have sleep powder. It is an incredibely useful move to incapacitate an opponent for the entire match) ~Leech Seed (Another great utility move to help Venusaur and its teamates) ~Sludge Bomb (For those grass types that aren't affected by leech seed) ~Energy Ball - (A good STAB attack and for coverage)

I think what I'll end up doing is changing the attacks and EV's a bit and give it something like leftovers instead of the Choice Scarf. I realize that as a rain dance provider, Choice Scarf doesn't work. (Well, it could, but not that well...) I'll update it and let you guys look over it. - Quote :

XD Personally I thought that Venusaur was a little whack, but I ran out of ideas, it was late at night, I wanted to go to bed, blah blah blah! lol I definitely will change some stuff around to almost exactly what you recommend. I'll see if I can add a personal touch. By the way, I do realize I need some more walls... any suggestions?

But for now, this is my team!

| Do you really think Whirlwing will work on Swellow? That thing is frail as paper, even resisted hits do their fair share to him, adding to your Flame Orb AND SR weakness, he wont survive long. Protect works well over it, since it ensures you activate your Flame Orb, and helps for scouting | |

| for swellow give it protect so it can get the status without it getting killed. And as for the toxic/flame orb diffrences, heres what you want to consider. at first the burn orb hurts you more, but by the third turn the damage is equal. so if your keeping this in for 4 turns then burn. if not, toxic. Besides this, i was thinking that almost all of this team aside from swellow could benifit A LOT from trickroom. With trickroom up you could even turn shuckle into a offensive monster with a combo of powertrick and gyroball. if you want to try it i can help you build it. | |

Sturdy is useless in competitive battling because of the OHKO clause
