My NEW Sandstorm Team Empty
PostSubject: My NEW Sandstorm Team   My NEW Sandstorm Team EmptySat Aug 07, 2010 1:19 am

My new prototype sandstorm team. sorry for making so many of these, I just want to try to get the best one for me.

Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
My uber-bulky hippowdon. Leads of with stealth rock in order to bring out SR and sandstorm. Slack off for recovery, and roar to disable stallers or stat-boosting pokemon (ex. gyrados)

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Substitute
- Magnet Rise
My steel killer. if given a free turn, I'll use magnet rise. I run HP grass on him because my gengar already carries HP fire.

Rhyperior (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Megahorn
- Rock Polish
My physical sweeper. Can force switches, and then use rock polish.

Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Hardy Nature
- Focus Blast
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Pretty basic. Immune to fighting and ground, some of my teams big weakness. Has HP fire to take out choice band scizors, and focus blast and shadow ball for unresisted coverage.

Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Sludge Bomb
- Surf
Absorbs toxic spikes, can use rapid spin, and can take water-type hits like an champ.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Gyro Ball
My beastly Bronzong. Immune to ground, has high special defense, and can toxic stall quite well.

I suggest giving Tentacruel HP Electric as it give better coverage then Poison. (As poison's coverage is pretty bad.) Also try to aim for a Timid Gengar and a Jolly or Adament Ryperior. Other than that team is pretty good.
Edit: Also Solid Rock on Ryperior is a way better ability then Lightning Rod.

gengar and tentacruel are no good on a sandstorm team as they are affected by sandstorm try replacing tentacruel with someone like Nidoking as it can learn Aqua Tail to take care of the water side and replace Gengar with Aerodactyl as it also is immune to fighting and ground but is unaffected by sandstorm

that i beg to differ
ur whole team doesnt have to be immune to sandstorm
one of the best combos in sand is magnezone, t-tar, and gengar
tentacruel is good to help take the water attacks that plague an ss team

tentacruel is bery useful for absorbing toxic spikes, rapid spinning other hazards out, and laying toxic spikes of its own
