| Ok, I got a shiny ponyta thats MODEST (aren't you jealous  ) So...
Ponyta--Modest--Choice Specs--Flash Fire
Ev's--252 sp. atk-- 252 speed--4 hp? (doesn't matter)
--HP GRASS (yea, so awesome)
--OverHeat
--Flamethrower
--Toxic/Swift
I have toxic so if I switch in and I know they will switch in to a wall, I can poison them. Also, Ponyta can't really have a good other move, might do swift but its just...not really helpful unless agaist another fire type.
OverHeats a pretty basic Choce move, use it, switch out
Flamethower is for sweeping. If I see a potential sweep, I take advantage.
Hp Grass- Didn't really have a choice Its great, takes out ground, rock, and water weaknesses. I don't know how much power it has, however. |

| Yeah what herp said, is it LC or just general NFE battling? or you could always evolve it into rapidash. you really did luck out there with the shiny, nature, and HP (although really its SpA isnt too amazing). swift is seriously a terrible move unless you have stab and technician... but it really doesnt have much.... dang even rapidash doesnt have anything. i would go with toxic, although if you do ever evolve it a choiced hyper beam just to finish off the opponents last pokemon would be possible (not many other opportunities because of frail defenses) |

I might evolve it if it sucks too much. Its for regular play btw, not NFE.
thats why i thought about going against swift, and yes choice hyper beam COULD end games easily. But sadly your right about ponyta and rapidash having horrible sp. atk |

| yikes... even rapidash barely lasts in regular battling... idk what the heck to give it. theres nothing it can really use other than swift in the special side. i suppose toxic will be the best, unless you consider will o wisp. really not anything else to add |

i believe he means whatever tier he is feels like using, mostly just coverage wise. not everything is tier battling, sometimes i just say lets have a battle and hope they dont OU spam |

| Well then in that case I don't see the point in using it when everything outclasses it.
Honestly I'd just keep it as a trophy or use it as a trading tool. I have a shiny Modest hatched Eevee that I haven't touched and several shiny Shinx (got them while Ev training) but I just keep them around. Anything being Shiny doesn't really make it work, however if you were to use a tier then I could give you things to outrun, things to KO, and other general investments. It's cool that you got a shiny but usually it doesn't go past that. |

Pretty much yeah thats about all there is to this. Something that is outclassed by much, but is being used for probs i suppose. But if i can use a competitive gimmick yanma successfully, anything is possible for him |

| I'd give it swift.
But I'd also give it a life orb, instead.
So you could switch moves.
Actually, no. I take it back.
I'd give it a sash.
So it wouldn't get killed easily. |

It doesn't necessarily mean fail, however you need to have either Rain Dance or Sunny Day on your team and a Rapid Spinner just to make one item work. Focus Sash only works effectively on lead sets, elsewhere is nearly impossible to make viable. I've seen it work once and it still failed to do anything useful. |

| ponyta has poor sp.atk and ether toxic nor swift is a good move for it...
i would replace them for hypnosis... and it would be better as a physical sweaper since it has more base atk than sp.atk!
you strategy isnt half bad but a adamant ponyta with hypnosis will be way more effective than a modest.
also if your ever gonna have a choice pokemon dont give it toxic-thunder wave- will-o-wisp- hypnosis- sleep power...ect.. give it a life orb instead. |

| Hypnosis is an egg move, and thus will not work for a shiny set. |
