This pokemon begins a long (and do I mean LONG) series into the release of Heart Gold and Soul Silver. The pokemon itself can travel through time, and if I remember right off the top of my head, would appear when there was something that needed its attention. It was also one of the main pokemon in the 4th pokemon movie with Suicune.
The Uuttitan Forum's Pokemon of the Week Presents: Celebi!
Celebi has a nice base of 100, and has a semi decent move pool. The large issue with it is that being Grass and Psychic, it carries many weaknesses, which can cause trouble for it. So no matter what you decide to do with it, make sure your ready for its weaknesses to come up in a battle!
Special Sweeper; Modest / Timid EVs: 200 spat, 252 Speed, 58 Hp @Life Orb / Choice Specs (if you so desire) Move Set: Psychic Energy Ball / Leaf Storm Signal Beam Earth Power / Recover
Psychic: Its a great move for Celebi due to its STAB advantage. It can also get rid of most Poison and Fightning types that get in your way. Some fighting types also carry Fire Punch, so it helps get rid of some threats. Over all, Psychic is a good move that hits relatively well on most pokemon.
Energy Ball / Leaf Storm: The choice is really your preference. Energy Ball is a good grass type move that gets rid of the Rock and Ground types that get in your way, then again Leaf Storm can do the same thing and better. The thing is do you want it to lose its Special Attack or not?
Signal Beam: This is a great move to get rid of Other Psychic types as well as Dark Type pokemon that get in your way. It also hits decent on Ghosts (if memory serves).
Earth Power: The things you can do with Platinum. Earth Power is a good way to get rid of one of Celebi's greatest threats, Fire Types. Unless scarf'd, you can normally out run them naturally, so it will do the job rather well.
Recover: This is if you want to get back health you would lose from the Life Orb. You'd want to be good at predicting to know when you'd have a free turn to get your health back.
Special Well / Supporter Celebi; Careful EVs: 252 hp, 160 def, 148 Sp. Def @Leftovers Move set: Calm Mind Recover Heal Bell Psychic
(To be honest, I didn't want to make a tank, I kinda mixed a few things together >.>)
Calm Mind: Good for boosting your special defense even more, as well as starting to get some power under Celebi's belt. Standard for setting up a special wall.
Recover: Good for getting back HP you may have lost setting up the Calm Minds, Leftovers cant cover for everything after all.
Heal Bell: The supporter concept of Celebi. This way you can get rid of any status problems your pokemon have while your tanking with Celebi, also good if your get T-waved while your trying to set up.
Psychic: To me, it seems like Psychic would be a good move option due to stab, but its all up to you.
((REMEMBER: I just give my ideas, you dont have to abide by them 100%, though alittle credit would be nice ))

While Celebi`s tiping carries 7 weakness with it, its also a good defensive type, resisting Ground, Electric, Water, Psychic and Fighting, and Natural Cure makes it a natural stall war, god, i absolutely love celebi and thanks to his general bulk, he can survive some weaker SE hits, like Swamprt`s IB and Gyarados Ice Fang

Hopefully Celebi will be good to use on a future team, especially if they incorporate it into HeartGold and SoulSilver. Keep up the good work dude, and I can't wait for the next Pokemon of the Week!
